Pingsi, in a rural district in the eastern part of New Taipei City, was an important coal mining town in the early 20th century. In addition to sky lanterns, there are also other tourist attractions along the Pingsi branch line, near Jingtong, Pingsi, Lingjiao, Wanggu, Shihfen, Dahua, and other stations. Also, one of sources of the Keelung River originates in Jingtong.
Visitors can take the shuttle bus from the Taipei Zoo near the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Muzha Station between 10am and 7pm. The bus will take you all the way to the Jingan suspension bridge near Shihfen Station. The shuttle bus returning from Pingsi to Taipei City runs until midnight.

The Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf is well known for its beautiful sunsets and seafood. There are magnificent floating piers and a spacious park, with a bridge in the shape of a boat spanning across the harbor and a wooden path stretching over 300 meters at the waterfront.
Due to the beautiful sceneries of the place, literature, and art performances plus concerts are held frequently. Visitors are able to watch and enjoy the performances free to charge. If you have time, you might wish to buy a cup of coffee and take a seat at the benches and feel the romantic wind breeze.

Wuling Farm is situated at a high altitude, thus has long been the perfect getaway resort in summer (with an average temperature of 22°C). The spring of Wuling is filled with the subtle yet enchanting smell of peach blossoms, plum blossoms, and apple blossoms blooming in the mountains and valleys. The flower views are attractive for visitors, especially in Spring. Sakura blossoms season. Therefore there is a good place for dating for Valentine’s Day in Taiwan.
Wuling Forest Park is an ideal destination for hikers and tourists, offering views of mountains, valleys and waterfalls. The Park has campground, trails and ecology garden.
